Four Voices Through Time

Thursday, August 15, 7:30pm - 10:00pm

Music at the Substation and community partner Turtle Swamp Brewing present the third "test kitchen" concert of the summer.

Come join us on a musical journey as four world-class oboists bring you vocal-inspired music from around the world. Often compared to the human voice, the oboe is the most sumptuous of all the woodwind instruments. Program to include folk music from around the world, ancient music inspired by religious visions, and some surprises you won't want to miss! Never heard an oboe live before? Well, now is your chance to hear FOUR!

$20 for one general admission ticket (includes one dink)
$15 for under 21 admission (no drink included)

Come be a part of history and join us in the revitalization of this amazing community landmark!

Summer Sing - Beer Choir Style.jpg

Summer Sing - Beer Choir style!

Tuesday, August 20, 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Join the Metropolitan Chorale for our Summer Sing at Turtle Swamp's Beer Garden on Tuesday August 20th from 6:30-9:30pm. We'll gather together to sing some classic choral chestnuts, anthems, and choruses, as well as selections from the Beer Choir Hymnal under the direction of Lisa Graham, our fabulous conductor. You'll have a chance to meet singers in the chorale and join your voices together while enjoying some fabulous local craft brews at the historic Roslindale Substation.

Your $20 admission ticket includes your first beer and all the music you'll need for the evening. If you're looking for a choir to join or just up for a fun evening of singing and camaraderie, join us. Beer consumption is not required to have a great time with us, so we would love to have you even if beer isn't your thing. Get your tickets today, they won't last long!

L Word Trivia August 22.jpg

L Word Trivia

Thursday, August 22, 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Our first L Word Trivia event was a blast and sold out in ONE WEEK so we're hosting another one in a bigger space! We'll be doing a completely different question set, so repeat trivia goers are more than welcome!

Who killed Jenny Schecter? While nobody but Ilene Chaiken can answer that question for sure--lez be honest, though, it was totally Bette--there are a whole slew of other L Word trivia questions we've got queued up for you.

Join us at the Beer Garden a night of talking, laughing, loving, breathing, etc. and a chance to win a big gay prize. Trivia starts at 7:30pm but come at 6:30pm to drink and prep your team for the ultimate L word showdown.

Portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to BAGLY: The Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization, committed to social justice and creating, sustaining, and advocating for programs, policies, and services for the LGBTQ youth community.

Get your tickets ASAP - we have limited space, and expect to sell out AGAIN!
